I wanted to do this pic in honour of SpongeBob turning a glorious 10 years. God it's been a long time since I 1) became a fan, and 2) drew him. SpongeBob means an awful lot to me, for the past 6 years I've genuinely enjoyed the show's slapstick humour and the characters ranged awesomely from nerdy optimists to grouchy old egotists. And when I saw the movie in the cinema, aw man I loved it so much, and watching it recently I still enjoy it.

However, I have a lot of post-movie stuff to catch up on.

The sky, sand and rocks behind him were just bits of scanned in painted paper and jiffy packs I found lying around, they made such a good texture for this pic plus it was easy peasy to change the colour with Hue/Saturation. The bubbles were done with a brush I made myself, I tried not to overdo it.

The 14th of July will be THE BEEEEEST DAAAAAY EEEEEVEEEEEEEERRR!!

You draw bubbles so awesome! They always turn out so gorgeous! :D Just so realistic!

Squidward's my fave! I'm a little bit like him, except I don't publicly express my feelings of contempt and resentment to people's faces, lol! But inside is another story. Plus, like him, I can't stand to be around others- I prefer to be alone. And I usually have a "Eh, whatever" attitude to things in general.

My brother told me that you can see his birth date on his boat driver license. (In one episode)

Custom brushes are so easy to make, yet not so easy to organise. :(

Ahaha, Squidward is my sister's favourite character, I guess she just love all the grouchy characters. That and probably also where he did that weird fetal position in "SB-129". :giggle:

Ah yes, Sleepy time and that other one where he actually gets a driving licence. It's kinda odd for the year to be 1986 if it was set in 1999 but then again cartoons like that make little sense of the real world. :P
